Jamesons Kona Beachfront Restaurant

Mai Tais at Jamesons Kona Beachfront Restaurant

Kirsten's First Mai Tai

My wife and I found this wonderful oceanfront restaurant on our honeymoon in Kona, Hawaii.

Jameson’s is located on the ocean, just south of the touristy downtown area of Kona. Their indoor and outdoor dining overlooks the crashing surf of a private cove.

Jameson’s is a bit of a hidden treasure.  If you don’t know where it is, it’s easy to drive right past it.  You can barely tell there is a restaurant when you drive into the parking lot.  No fancy signs; but don’t let that dissuade you.  This is actually to their advantage, because their dining area is hidden from the main street, which makes for a very intimate setting.

We went for a sunset beach dinner and it was fantastic.

Kirsten had the Ono with Ginger cream sauce, I had the Panko crusted Mahi-Mahi.   We were both very impressed with the food and service.  For dessert we split a slice of macadamia nut pie.

This was by far the best dinner on our Honeymoon, though we did not get a chance to go to Roy’s or Merriman’s.  In a previous trip I dined at both Roy’s and Merriman’s, which are equally as good, but not nearly as romantic.  If you are looking for a romantic sunset oceanfront restaurant in Kona, Jameson’s By The Sea is the best.

It really is an oceanfront restaurant.

Aw those are great pictures :) I’m actually having my wedding in mid-July and we’re also going to Kona for our honeymoon! So maybe me and my new husband can check it out! Panko crusted mahi mahi sounds so delicious! I’m so excited, we will definitely have to check this place out!
